ACS worker are underpaid, overworked and untrained for the job. They tend to be rude, arrogant, and uncaring of the children in their care. When speaking with ACS workers remember to remain professional and polite. The ACS workers rely on you yelling or screaming. They will then write in their reports that you were violent and are in need of treatment and parenting classes. Stand on your legal rights and demand that you have a right to legal representation.
It is very difficult to remain calm while others are attacking you. But if you act out, it will be used against you in court. Ask to speak to their supervisors and document all interactions so they can be used as proof in court in the future. Have a witness present if that is possible. Above all, do NOT speak to them until you have had a chance to speak to an attorney. If ACS has contact you, call us at 917-519-8417 and put us on your side.
